Victim support counselling

If you have been a victim of crime or violence, you and your family members can receive mental health support to help you recover from trauma. The cost of this support is covered by the Estonian Social Insurance Board.

How does the victim support counselling service work?

To receive mental health support aimed at helping you recover from trauma, first contact a victim support specialist. Ohvriabitöötajate kontaktid leiad siit.

Victim support specialist

  • will help you determine what kind of support you need to cope with what happened and recover from it
  • will guide you in communicating with the relevant institutions
  • will help you find a suitable psychologist or psychotherapist to turn to. You can choose a specialist from among the contracted service providers.

If you have any questions about mental health support for trauma recovery, you can contact the Victim Support Crisis Helpline at 116 006. The helpline is available 24/7, and calls are answered in Estonian, Russian and English.
